Creating a Garden of Hope 

Since 2000, a group of employees at the Shelby, NC (US) facility has taken upon itself to plow, irrigate and plant a two-acre garden with potatoes, tomatoes, corn, zucchini, okra and other vegetables. Two seasonal harvests from the mini-farm, located on company-owned land across from the main entrance to the facility, provides thousands of pounds of vegetables for hospices, children’s centers and other special-needs organizations throughout the county.

Supporting the Local Community 

The PPG Industries Foundation has donated to various organizations for educational and human-services programs on behalf of PPG Fiber Glass facilities in the Carolinas. Each grant represents the commitment of PPG to supporting local organizations that provide needed resources in the communities where its employees work and live.
